qBittorrent official forums

I've got some torrents downloading to a local directory then moving the files to a network directory when finished. While seeding, if the network directory is not available for any reason all hell breaks loose. I'm not sure of the exact order, but:

• torrent starts downloading again to local drive, even of there are no longer seeders.
• Finished files are deleted from network drive once it's available again.
• Angry family wonders why content has disappeared.

Sometimes if I catch it early, I can sort by location and force re-scan on all my remotely saved torrents, but several times now I've ended up with a huge mess.

It would be nice if qBT wouldn't automatically re-download torrents which have already completed or there was some other way to prevent this other than not saving to a network drive.

All machines referenced are Win8 or 10.

If you're only seeding on qBT, make a backup of qBT's settings and resume folders...BEFORE starting up qBT each time.

Restoring that after qBT is closed for a bit should make the next start-up less messy assuming remote drives are available.

Is there a way to do this through the GUI? Seems pretty awkward so use a file manager to save a settings file every time you add a torrent. Would be nice if qBT wouldn't re-download a completed torrent without asking.

No way to do this through the GUI as far as I know.
And yes, it's really awkward.
It's a weak workaround but may beat qBT stupidly re-downloading 100+ GB of torrents.
