qBittorrent official forums

Hi,

So I've finally grown tired of Utorrent and decided to move to something else.
I use the utorrent remote a lot when I'm away from him and so need something similar and qBittorrent having both a webui and an android app fits the bill.

I can connect when I use my local ip but not my public ip which causes me a problem when I'm away from home and want to download something.

I have a small server running filezilla on a laptop. I have a port range forwarded and that connects and so I know the ports are forwarded correctly.

I have checked that there's no firewalls blocking it but it just times out on both the android app and the webui.
Is there something obvious I could be missing?
