Hi!
I just got my fiber upgraded to 500/500 Mbps (symmetrical, from 300/20). (According to Speedtest I have *real* 500/320, but this is to local servers of course).
I am looking for optimized settings for qbittorent.
Note that we are TWO here on the LAN, and we both are torrenting, so the settings should accommodate that, for each of us on their PC.
My current settings are:
Global Nr. of max. connections: 700
Max. connections per torrent: 144
Global max. nr. of upload slots: 40
Max nr. of upload slots per torrent: 11
On "Advanced" I have here max nr. of half-open connections on 50 (Win 10 64bit), Wife runs Win 7 64 bt.
Settings likely not optimal since PC behaves a little flakey. I somehow gathered these settings with the Azureus settings guide which obviously is outdated.
Thanks!!

Re: Settings recommendations for 500/500 fiber
There is really no optimal way to do this.
- Your storage can be slow, can clog up if you download too fast. I would simply download slower. I have a fast connection but stick to like a few MB/s speeds, because do I really need that file 5 minutes faster? No. But, my system remains a lot more responsive.
- Your router can get "overloaded" / loaded with the connections. Keep them low. You can stick to the default values and have better results. I mean, increasing the numbers will not magically increase your speed. That's not how it works.
Hope that helps!
