A (very) ugly bug on Windows using magnet links with NTFS mount points...

At home, I have folder d:\net\download which points to another hard drive (more info here). d:\net\download folder is the default folder for downloading applications such as qbitorrent.

If I download .torrent file, everything works ok, but if I start download using magnet links, qbittorrent somehow manages to unmount NTFS mount point (d:\net\download folder) which is not ok. :D I tried with utorrent, and problem do not exist.

At the moment, I do not use magnet links, but thepiratebay plans sometime in the future to provide magnet links only, and maybe other tracker will follow.

Sorry for bad english. :D

Please report the bug here:
https://launchpad.net/qbittorrent
Yesterday i downloaded from the PB and there had only magnet link option, so maybe the time of this change has come.

Yes its confirmed that Tpb is making the switch to magnet links only slowly. Reasons were that magnet links are much smaller in size and also they don't have to host torrent files anymore instead of links. We will see :).

Magnet links work fine usually although there seems to be a problem with your configuration. However, it is not qBittorrent's fault since it is only a GUI for libtorrent.

http://code.google.com/p/libtorrent/issues/entry is a better place to report FileSystem related issues, including I/O errors.
