Two torrents just going to error

Windows 10 / qBitTorrent 4.13

Hi! I have two torrents, that just go to error. I tried deleting them, adding them again, same. No explaination. In the log file, there's no info either.

Tried adding them to uTorrent -- there, they work without any problem.

Help?

1.Torrents too large for qBT to handle? Lots of pieces per torrent?

2.Not enough space on drive you're saving them to?

3.Torrent made under Linux and has duplicate files (that differ only by CaSe) in the same folder/s?

4.Trackers on the torrents garbage-names, causing the error/s?

Thanks!

1. the biggest torrent I'm downloading has 180 GB and is downloading fine. The two torrents that go to error all the time (and then download a bit and then go to error again) have 4.97 GB (around 18 files) and 9.74 GB (12 files).
2. I have around 19 TB free space left.
3. The filenames seem to be unique
4. good question. How do I figure that out (uTorrent is downloading the same torrents just fine)?

As an update... I have downloaded one of the two torrents with uTorrent in less than 2 hours. In qBitTorrent, I have added the very same torrent -- I just copied over the magnet link to uTorrent -- 6 days ago and it is still stuck at 9.6 %. I don't understand that.

[/quote]1. See, that's crucial info. They DO download a little bit and then go to errors!
I get that problem when I set qBT's cache too large. It's probably possible as well to trigger that if the cache is set to automatic (-1) AND you have 16 GB ram or more. qBT 32bit version is almost guaranteed to crash if you upload very much if the cache is larger than ~1000 MB size.

2. and 3. Ok and Ok

4. qBT has a trackers tab just like uTorrent does. Error messages might appear there for each tracker.

Lastly, magnet links remove the trackers...sometimes masking problems or worse, creating additional ones where the magnets won't work at all in another BT client.

So... Are there any plans to implement actual error-messages for such cases anywhere? I looked through the tabs -- nothing.

I currently have a bit over 3000 torrents in qBitTorrent, only these two made problems. My PC doesn't have that much RAM, 3 GB available in total, but there's also other apps running on it.

So what was the status for the trackers on the 2 broken torrents?

Torrent 1: Successfully downloaded in uTorrent, still hanging in qBitTorrent:

Torrent 2: Not yet downloaded in uTorrent, also still hanging in qBitTorrent.

Today, both torrents didn't go to error, they just stayed in "Queued".

The second one has NO trackers. What happens when you fix that?
(...and get it to quit being queued by pausing some of your other torrents.)

Thanks, but why do they go to error? One has a ton of trackers, the other doesn't have trackers, so it can't be the trackers, right?

They go to error ...where did you see the error messages? Just the main window?
I get torrents going to error in qBT because/when I set qBT's cache too large.
Or file/folder permissions conflicts.
Or locked files. (in use by other apps...)
Or when I inadvertently delete the whole folder the files were in. :P

DHT alone is very unreliable -- it needs PEX with it typically combined with 10+ peers/seeds to stay "knit together" into a coherent torrent swarm.
Otherwise the peers and seeds may not find each other at all -- gotta love those dead tracker torrents that stay stuck at 0% complete. :(

The one with a "ton of trackers" has a bunch of trackers that aren't working period. Some of which have been dead for years. There's less than 10 working trackers in the pic, and of those probably 3-5 are duplicates of each other! Not going to get a lot of peers/seeds from them if 2P/2S is for the "busy" one.
uTorrent may get lucky connecting (through DHT nodes) to the 1 peer/seed that "sees" (via DHT and PEX) all the other working peers+seeds while qBT only gets the peers+seeds reported by trackers.
