Hi everyone
I've just reinstalled windows, and so reinstalling all my favourite programs again
qBittorrent used to automatically start downloading as soon as I get the torrent file.
But now, I need to click on the torrent file for it to start.
I've checked the options, and the 'do not start the download automatically' box is not checked

Have you hit max active torrent queue size? (set elsewhere)

It was only 3 torrents.. I'm sorry, I don't know where to find the set limit for number of torrents

The settings for that is under Options, BitTorrent, Torrent Queueing.

But even when I don't have anything running, it doesn't automatically run a torrent file

Disable Torrent Queueing entirely.
It's certainly messed-up.
I'm HOPING the problems with it get fixed by qBT v4.2.1...

Only if you removed qBitTorrent's settings...which can be done without reinstalling:

hmm... I tried but it's not working either
it's so weird...

qBitTorrent may have file/drive permissions restrictions problems due to the OS and/or antivirus/antimalware software.
Or networking restrictions due to a software firewall permissions/restrictions.

should I make an exception to my antivirus?

Yes -- you don't want it trying to constantly auto-scan files while qBT is downloading them.
