Download button doesn't work

Hello, I am using qBitorrent v4.1.5 64-bit for Windows.
It worked great for me for years, but since a while I have the issue that when I search for a torrent with the built-in search engine and then click download the Torrent isn't added to the download list.
The torrent turns pink in the search results, but doesn't show up. The number of active downloads doesn't change either.
BUT: if I click the "Go to description page" (Not sure the English name, using a german client) and then on the torrent's website copy the magnet link, and manually use "Add magnet link" in qBitorrent it gets added to the download list and works.
I am using Windows 10, don't have a software firewall installed and didn't make any changes to my configuration except updating qBitorrent when a new version was released.
I am at a loss and would be glad for help.
