Disaster recovery strategy for qBittorent 4.1.0

After a sudden crash (qBittorent 4.1.0):
- a lot of downloading torrent disappear from "Downloading" window
- a lot of downloaded torrent disappear from "Completed" window
- a lot of completed folder appear as "Missing files"
- no *.!qB file are found in folder corresponding to torrents in download
- probably many "so on" I have not checked thus far
Please, can you (1) recommend a Disaster recovery strategy, (2) suggest a method to compare size and hash (I use Nirsoft's HashMyFiles) of downloaded files and the data contained in torrent files ?
It's a catastrophe ... terabyes gone in the wind ... a famous song well descrbe the situation:
Standing on the edge of the crater

Desolation, devastation
What a mess we made, when it all went wrong
