Constant checking and rechecking after clean shutdown.

Hello,
I have over 2000 torrent in my qBittorrent program. The version 4.1.5. Sometimes the torrent speeds slowdown, and I have found that restarting the application helps 'refresh' everything and the speeds are up again. Regretfully, even though I wait for the application to perform a clean shutdown (it is not running in task manager) qBittorrent has to recheck many of the torrents. Many of them are checked to be fine, but the whole process takes over an hour. Is there a way to perform a 'clean shutdown' so that the torrents aren't checked again at startup? Also, I paused 100% of the torrents before shutting the app down but when I open it again, many are un-paused and many of those need to be re-checked.
Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Is torrent queueing enabled?
Because this sounds like a serious bug... and torrent queueing might be at least partially to blame.

I'm having exactly the same problem, with torrent queing turned on. It's extremely frustrating, when some of the torrents are 50gb plus. By the way, the torrents are not ebooks.

I have the same problem with torrent queueing turned off.
I believe it must have began happening with the newest version, as it didnt happen previously.
Im actually in the middle of checking a 500gb torrent as we speak which takes ages
ive been a glutton for punishment, closing and re opening qbittorrent just in an attempt to see if enabling/disabling this or that settings fixes it. Each time is a few hour wait between recheck and reclose with fingers crossed lol.
If you pause all your torrents before closing qbitorrent it wont happen, as cumbersome as that is. God forbid you restart your pc with qbittorrent running, then you wait, and wait some more - again

Rather you then me lol. I've started using Deluge until a fix is found, or the next stable version is released.

If you have a good last run+close of qBitTorrent, you can back up its settings and test instead:
https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorr ... s_settings
https://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php/top ... l#msg13292 Backup qBT settings!
Then if you get the got-to-recheck-nearly-everything problem, close qBT and restore its backed up settings!

Hmm - would backing up the torrent data @ C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\qBittorrent be adequate to replace should something trigger the check? (in order to clear and reset it?)
I can manage remembering which setting i chagned or going one by one, just worried about getting around/reverting the recheck when it occurs

The BT_backup subfolder may be sufficient, but I haven't tested it enough to know for absolute sure...

No, not e-books. Just movies and TV shows.

Torrent queueing is not turned on. I just replaced a hard drive on my server and waiting for the rebuild to finish tonight. All of my torrents are paused. (Afraid to quit the program). I am making a backup of my current state, but I don't know how useful it will be as it will change as soon as I start the torrents again.
Solution seems to be to NOT quit qBittorrent and pray it never crashes.

if theyre paused, you can close. trust me. been there - done that.
however, i have my entire advanced section set back to defaults - and it doesnt cause unmerited rechecks upon close.
I had a hodgepodge of settings ive seen recommended consistently like cache time and size etc, and with my big ole mechanical archive drive (5400rpm) i imagine it was something on that side of the fence. Nothing like turning off geolocation etc.
Or i had increased I/O threads, may have been that as well. Watermark stuff too. So if you have any of that stuff changed, i suggest going back to defaults and see if it still happens. If not, begin the process of elimination.
its on my shortlist, im just exceptionally shamefully busy, so ill get to it and report back when i can ><

mind you, this is exceptionally preliminary - but i had to restart for some windows update, so took advantage.
Had just started some new, huge torrents that werent of large importance so i figured id change something. Quickest way i could eliminate (potentially) one possiblity.
Remember - am downloading to a slow, huge 5400 rpm archive drive.
I figured the first thing that would make sense to change, that I felt tied in - was the disk cache. Previously the problem presented and I had much changed, disk cache was set to something ginormous as I have more ram than I could ever use. Now I was back to defaults, no problems, and changed disk cache from default of 64mb, to -1 for auto.
restarted, and poof. rechecking.
I imagine that auto (and my previous "ginormous" setting) both cached so much data in ram, that windows spent most of its life writing it all back to disk, and it simply restarted first - data wasnt written or whathaveyou, and it initiated the re-check.
Purely talking from my ass, but like i mentioned - ill be putting in much more thorough vetting and backing up of settings when I have time to devote solely to it.
