Is there wildcard search ability for the 'Search engine' ?

Like the title suggests.
I've tried the usual * but no joy.
If no, is this something the devs would consider?
EDIT: Regex would be nice also like how there's the option in the filter as implemented in the v4.1.3 release.

SEARCH: Add regex option in the search filter's context menu (thalieht)
