when I go to a proxy site and hit a magnet link to download a torrent, I am being redirected to open an account or to something called 'mylink'
is there anyway of stop the redirection and just downloading the torrent

I am fairly sure you are searching a "bad site"... like something malicious. I would highly recommend using qBittorrent's in-built search function....
Also make sure you use "uBlock Origin" browser plugin in your browser to protect you...
