how does RSS work

Hi
i have RSS set to refresh every 5 minutes, when a site release several (like 10) torrents
the RSS only fetch the first one, is this normal behaviour? is it because of the website or client or protocol?
when this happens i have to refresh manualy, and still most people have allready finished downloading, so i get little seeding done
