Today I offered a compilation of 3.0.0rc2.

It has many changes and GUI rearrangements. The most notable one is the "Add torrent dialog". It is quite simplified and it aims to hide the advanced functionality with an "expander button". This is a really good idea. But a previous functionality is lost. In the 2.9.x series there is a checkbox in the dialog to "Set the path a the default". This is used to implement a "Remember last used folder" functionality which is an extremely useful feature when you add torrents from a series that usually go on the same folder which is different from the one set as default.

Please discuss this problem or report other issues for you.

There's a problem with your v3.0.0rc2 build, sledge.
At every program startup (first run included) I get the error message "The torrent file does not exist":



I only do clean installs, so there's no chance that this error is related to any temp files from previous installs.
This only happens with your v3.0.0rc2 build, not with fszymanski's build.
Also; neither yours, nor fszymanski's v2.9.11 build has got this error.

I found the problem.
You've just messed up the target string in the program shortcuts by adding "0" as a parameter.
Looks like this:
"C:\Program Files\qBittorrent\qbittorrent.exe" 0
Calls for the simplest qBittorrent fix in its history I guess

It seems okay... I would say most only use the same folder BUT, it needs to be placed folder by torrent, not folder in details. Reason being, it now breaks (double-click) "open destination folder" completely useless feature now since all it opens is the root folder for all downloads, instead of opening the torrent in question folder. (I see this latest version does have a way around this, right-click and open destination folder but what was so wrong with the "old way" and the option to double-click open destination folder)
This also has the limitation of creating at least one extra step if I want to change a folder name (or clean up extra junk from folder name) before a torrent starts.
In my opinion it needs to be one or the other (prefer the old way), the "old way" with the torrent folder placed in the top "Save as" tab or leave the add dialog "open" so that one doesn't have to first click it open, then right-click folder, then rename.

"open destination folder" works fine now if you add the torrents in rc2 and use the context menu to open; doesn't work with double click
torrents removal is a problem.
No .unwanted folder created still, unchecked items stay in root folder.

OMG I have no idea how that slipped into the installer script. Obviously a typo when I first made the script a long time ago.
Anyway I have updated the installers. Nice catch.

I really need the folders to be handled the way they used to, this completely changes the way I am used to using the feature and creates extra steps, I did see your post in the other thread tekko, (good point on the resizing aspect) it does indeed need to remember the re-size for next use... if it is to be useful... would likely have to re-size window every time too.

Can you guys remove torrents in qbt 3.0.0? After I restart qbt the removed torrents are there too... Can you confirm? If yes please reply to this bug report too. https://bugs.launchpad.net/qbittorrent/+bug/1020227

I can confirm that.

Cannot confirm (Git HEAD, Win7, AMD64).

Regarding BT_backup r/o. My BT_backup has r/o, but all files inside do not. Maybe torrent files had r/o already when being added and the flag got copied over? Will check that tomorrow.

I found the solution. I am waiting for Chris to take action. Look at the bug report.

Thanks for the fix... I thought I was the only one with the problem...

Very minor, and most likely cosmetic only but if you continue to do "official windows build" could you use the installer like fszymanski? If only just to look more professional. Or maybe there was a reason why you don't use the official-looking installer...?

Confirming. r/o flag is copied along with added torrents.
