I installed this as an update a few hours ago. Since then I have had a continuous stream of the program being blocked by Malwarebytes, as a Trojan. Have submitted a ticket to MWB, but I want to resolve this, as qbittorrent cannot access outbound at all - it is blocked. Can I revert to an earlier version? It is the IP address each time, and each time a different one, that MWB is objecting to.

Does it not say WHY it blocks qBittorrent? Usually, these programs don't like a tracker or something.

It simply calls it a Trojan - but it has been working in harmony with qbt for years now. It's only since the latest update of qbt.

just download & install the previous version 4.3.1 from https://sourceforge.net/projects/qbittorrent/files/

The new version has introduced some other unexpected behavior (e.g. removed the keep the top level folder checkbox).

My suggestion is that future UI or other behavior changes are put up for a review/feedback to the forum before implementation or release on a trial basis to select users before the full version release goes ahead.

Honestly, this is a years old thing. Basically, crappy AV clients just mark a lot of stuff as a virus/trojan, because they just suck and it's "safer" to mark everything unsigned I guess (Comodo is extremely guilty of this). The only way to get around this is to "code sign" your program. Only problem? It's expensive.

It is however odd that Malwarebytes and qbt have worked happily together for years, until the latest version of qbt. Previous version reinstalled; now to see if the problem is resolved.
