qBittorrent official forums

Presently using qBittorrent v3 and it is unable to contact the public trackers loaded along with a TPB magnet link:

• udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80
• udp://tracker.publicbt.com:80
• udp://tracker.istole.it:6969
• udp://tracker.ccc.de:80

UDP is enabled in qBittorrent and it's forwarded through my router; all private trackers are functioning flawlessly, only these public trackers are perpetually stuck on Not Working status. I've rebooted the software to no avail and re-installed an old version of uTorrent to see if it was simply the trackers themselves having issues, but with uTorrent the TPB magnet links functioned perfectly and downloaded/uploaded as normal.

Is this currently a known issue with qBittorrent v3 and if so is there a known fix? I quite like this software but this is something of a deal breaker.

EDIT: I have made another attempt on TPB with qBittorent v3 after seeing loki's post below and it is now connected to udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80 and functioning normally, though the others are still listed as "Not contacted yet" and an attempt to force a connection does nothing. As I've made no changes to system settings since the time of this post it may very well have been an issue on the tracker's end.

I don't know why, but the trackers works for me.

btw; libtorrent v0.16.3 has just been released, and it contains a Python related trackers fix.
I don't know if this will affect the problem that you guys are having though..
You'll just have to wait and see.
I'm sure sledgehammer_999 will include the latest libtorrent fixes in his next release.

It seemed like I had the same issue, or maybe it was just the udp ones. As soon as it got a working http public tracker it peer-exchanged and got enough seeds to allow me to download.

If I wan to download a manget from tpb, it says forever "retrieving metadata". If I click OK the status is 'Downloading metadata'. It won't download anything. I have win7 32bit, Qbitt 3.1.1.1. If you want, I can give more information. Can you help me?

@ junpet i think its problem with libtorrent version, , I think. Facing same problem with . same version. wind 7 32 bit serv pk 1. @ sledge help.

Strange. TPB works fine with me. Can you post a link to a problematic magnet? (or pm me)

No problem with retrieving metadata for me.
The only problem I can see is that there's a small issue when resizing tabs in the preview window.
I mean, it works, only not as expected..
And you can't grab between the "Name" and "Size" tab at all.

Today I tried randomly a lot of tpb magnet link, but no one works for me. Here's one:

It works for me. Can you test with another client? Maybe it's a problem with your router?

Was it 6881? (only external ip is sensitive not port numbers)

Umm could you change the port to something else (hit the random button) and try again?

It's working, with new port+PC restart (I tried yesterday the new port, but it didn't worked, but now, after restart is working.). Thank you! I hope there won't be any problem with tpb magnets in the future. If I will have, I will report here.

Maybe your ISP is blocking port 6881 (it is the default for bittorrent)

I rarely use manget, but again not working with TPB. (I set use different port on each startup) BTW magnets working perfectly with rarbg. I will try reset options.

Edit: I've deleted all the ini files, but still not working the magnets on TPB (but utorrent works fine).
