Here we go again... Couple of minutes ago I did the following to one multifile torrent in my qB 4.3.3:

• stopped partially downloaded torrent from seeding
• deleted the existing files (was previewing tv show season this way)
• deselected the files above from the torrent
• selected the remaining files in the torrent

Just before starting the transfer I checked out what's going on with the my disk space and to my surprise I found out the space WASN'T allocated, looking closely at the files I realized what my preference to have space preallocated was ignored and instead I've got sparse files. This is even against the purpose of sparse files, unallocated zeros holes expected to be not written soon (if ever). The expected behavior of file preallocation is opposite!
