Missing search engine

I have just installed the latest qBittorrent (v3.1.0alpha) and was looking forward to using the search engine feature. Looking at this guide:

http://www.techsupportalert.com/qbittor ... rch-engine

There should be a view menu or search tab. However, there is no sign of either. I have seen that I need Python to enable this and I have it installed...

marcus@microserver:/var/lib/deluge/.config/deluge.old/state$ which python
/usr/bin/python
marcus@microserver:/var/lib/deluge/.config/deluge.old/state$ python --version
Python 2.7.3

...and had it installed when I configured the make file etc. I am running on Ubuntu...

marcus@microserver:/var/lib/deluge/.config/deluge.old/state$ uname -a
Linux microserver 3.2.0-26-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 14 17:49:24 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I know there are search engine plugins ( basically python files) but there seems to be no way of adding in new ones (as I have no tab and there is nothing in the options). Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

I am also having the same issue.
I was forced to reload my machine due to HD failure.
Prior to the reload the search function in Qbittorrent worked fine, after reload the search is empty of any engines at all.
I read the you need Python 2.2 so I installed that, I uninstalled Qbittorrent and reinstalled, still no engines.
I downloaded the search engine addon pack from Source Forge unpacked the RAR and tried to add the search .PY files and get an error that says it cannot be added.
I attempted to add a search engine manually with the the direct link fromĀ  the search engines webpage, I get the same error.
So I uninstalled Qbittorrent and reinstalled a much older version, and it also has no search engines.
I copied the .py files to Python lib directory no luck.
Now I read on the Qbittorrent site that Mobile Qbittorrent this option is not enabled but I am not running the Mobile version as far as I know.
I am running Windows 7 latest updates and security patches. ZoneAlarm and windows Firewalls, but this is the same configuration I had before the HD crashed.
Can someone PLEASE helpĀ  with this... I will gladly modify my registry manually if that is needed.
Please PLease point me in the right direction.
I seem to be lost in a forest looking for a tree!!!

Python 2.2 is way outdated and not being developed anymore. 2.7 and 3.2 are the only LTS versions atm.
Get 2.7 here: http://www.activestate.com/activepython/downloads
Uninstall your current python version. And install 2.7 someplace w/o space in path.

If this still doesn't work try removing 'nova' folder from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\qBittorrent\
