high cpu usage

hi..it's been a battle to choose the best client for torrents...i was a die hard fan of utorrent 2.2.1...but somebody advise me to give a try on qBitorrent.
and the upload speed is fantastic.
But it has his downside....high cpu usage...i am using windows defender and iobit malware protection and i have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4170 CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz...i do not play games...my hobby is uploading FLAC music...
when i had Eset installed it was like crazy...cpu at 70%...
then decided to uninstall Eset..which i like a lot...but it was to much for my cpu.
now i got qBitorent installed normally...upload speed terrific good, but spending 12% of my cpu...utorrent spent only 3%...
and with 14 firefox tabs my cpu usage is always around 40%...😏
i would like to low qBitorrent cpu usage...so my system runs smooth...
i got 4gb of ram...sufficiently enough for what i do edit music and upload...😁
i would like to hear your opinions about that and if there is a fix to solve this high cpu usage. of qBitorent
thanks...
cheers

Honestly, that's a pretty old CPU. It was a decent model in the past, the continuous discovery of security flaws in Intel CPUs resulted in patches and updates that just kept slowing it down. My 4790K was an absolute beast of a processor price/value-wise before Spectre/Meltdown came to light. Once all systems received patches, it became a slow, old dinosaur.

My point is, there is not much you can do. You can use some super old uTorrent maybe, 1.6.1.
You can disable the security flaw mitigations but that'd put you to risk. ( see: https://www.grc.com/inspectre.htm )

You can always dust out your laptop and repaste the CPU. That helps with performance.
