Big delay

Hello. I'm new here.
Can anyone help me understand what's going on with the qBittorrent on my PC? Many times when I stop or delete a torrent (also delete the files on the HDD) there's a big delay (like 20-30 sec) between the "stop" or "delete" command and the execution of it, getting the "not responding" message in the upper left corner of the qBittorrent. While the PC is not new, it works pretty well generally speaking.
PC specs: i3 3,4 GHZ, 8 GB RAM DDR3, WIN 10 PRO licence installed on a SSD drive. The files were stored initially in the 3rd storage unit, a laptop 5400 rpm HDD. Then I moved them to the second storage unit, a 250 GB Western Digital HDD, 7200 RPM. Got the same problem.
I usually keep maximum 4 torrents active, limiting the speeds on upload.
Any suggestions?
