Download won't start unless I restart aBittorrent 4.4.2

This problem has been there for many other previous versions.
Oftnen ... when you download ... it just stays there. I won't start the download or even a recheck.
If I close & open the qBittorrent app ... then all the downloads start.
I figure that in the last version 4.4.2 this issue would probably be fixed.
I have a Win10 + PIA + qBit4.4.2
