How can I read the qbittorrent-resume configuration file

Post by bigbeefyx »

I did a clean install of my operating system and saved the qbittorent configuration files. But the program won't load my previous torrents that I was seeding. I opened up the configuration files in notepad, but I can't make any sense of them.

I would, at the very least, like to open up the files to retrieve data such as my upload ratio for each torrent. Best case scenario, I would like to edit to (or move my torrents) so that the program loads them again with the same data as before. Is this possible?

The two from my user profile appdata/roaming/qbittorrent folder. I also backed up the system drive before doing the clean install.

You need to backup these 2 folders (this is on Windows XP):
1. C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\qBittorrent
2. C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\qBittorrent

Did you backup BOTH folders? Did you restore them to the correct path?
If yes, what is does the log show when you launch qbt(view->execution log)?
If not, then you need to backup both **folders**.

I have the entire drive backed up (Windows 8 ). I will check and report back when I get home.

Thank you! You are correct.

I moved the qbittorent folders from both directories to the new installation's AppData folder and it worked. The directories are a bit different in Windows 8 user profile folder --> AppData/Local and AppData/Roaming (if anyone wants to know).
