How to actively seed all active torrents?

Post by Vampire337 »

I am using QBT 3.1.9.2 and I use several different private trackers.  I have 2145 torrents currently seeding, and I have noticed that not all torrents seeding are actually communicating to their trackers.  This makes some show up as hit-n-run, or torrents leeched and not seeded, even though they are set to "seeding" status according to QBTorrent.  On the torrents in question, I can go to the Trackers tab at the bottom of QBTorrent and it shows a status of "Not contected yet".  Well, get a move on, lil buddy.  It will not contact for weeks, apparently.

I have tried changing some of the Connection settings, but have so far only been able to temporarily work around this issue by stopping all of my torrents except for the ones that QBT refuses to phone home to the tracker.  I've noticed this also affects my seeding history on private trackers, as many torrents I've thought were seeding for months are in fact never pinging to let the tracker know they're online to be shared.

Could someone point me to a setting I can change to make ALL active torrents seed and communicate with their respective trackers, not just a random handful?  Or is this a known bug in QBT?

This is fixed with this commit: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorr ... 188dc1e0ae
The fix will be included in v3.1.10. If your private trackers allow alpha versions you can download 3.2.0alpha versions which include the fix(on the other forum section).

Long story short: Libtorrent had a limit on how many torrents to announce to trackers/dht/lsd. I think it was 30 by default. Now the code sets that limits to the "maximum active torrents limit".

Nice add.  The alpha client looks pretty, especially nice to see it in full x64 support.  Unfortunately my trackers nearly all do not whitelist alpha builds, so I'm not too surprised to find it didn't work out.  Any word on when 3.1.10 may be released?
