Qbittorrent 3.1.11 [ Checking for libtorrent-rasterbar >= 0.15.0 ... no ]

Post by Pandapied »

Hi
I'm having issues getting the latest qbittorrent release to recognize my libtorrent-rasterbar-0.16.12 installation.

pandapied@albino:~/source/qbittorrent-3.1.11$ ./configure --disable-gui
Configuring qbittorrent ...
Verifying Qt 4 build environment ... ok
Checking for Qt >= 4.6 ... yes
Checking for pkg-config executable ... yes
Checking for libtorrent-rasterbar >= 0.15.0 ... no

Error: need libtorrent-rasterbar >= 0.15.0!

I'm trying to tun this on a dedicated server with CentOS 6.5 x64

Any ideas ?

***EDIT***

Problem solved
I just did a ln -s /usr/lib/pkgconfig/libtorrent-rasterbar.pc /usr/lib64/pkgconfig/libtorrent-rasterbar.pc  then it worked flawlessly

0.16.12 is NOT 0.16.15 so it is NOT going to happen with 3.1.11.

So either update libtorrent to 0.16.15 or 0.16.16 or compile an earlier version of qBitTorrent such as 3.1.[09]

Updating to libtorrent 0.16.15 would be the better idea, because there has been several 'bug-fixes' since 0.16.12.

Yes and on that note

logs of configure and make (failed) for qBT 3.11 with libboost 1.55 & libtorrent 016.18

gzipped tar, filenames match the operation being done.

libtorrent configure and make logs included.

boost library tested OK.  with test program.

Hi, how do we update libtorrent? Is this not provided with your PPA?
My current libtorrent is 0.16.13. I think this is from Canonical(ubuntu 14.04). I am using your stable PPA.

I am experiencing problems lately with trackers status being constantly "Not working". I have been troubleshooting since yesterday but haven't found what is causing this.

Yes that is A solution. but that is not a long lasting solution. Ones you go down the road of compiling, you need to keep compiling every time your distro updates. What purpose does a ppa serve to a popular program if its dependencies are left to the end user to maintain?

Since i am still learning the ins and outs of linux. Could someone explain the drawbacks of including libtorrent in the ppa?

thank you for your patience.

Edit: Spelling error

Ones you go down the road of compiling, you need to keep compiling every time your distro updates.
Only the components/applications/libraries that you need to update.

Indeed, still extra work that can be avoided though.
