Linux Mint 17.2 using MATE desktop. I was using qBittorrent 3.1.8, the latest one in the standard software repository.
When opening any magnet links, it would just keep trying to download metadata and never succeed. When this happened (infrequently) in Windows, it still added to the torrent to the list, but in Linux, it did not, so if I hit OK or Cancel, the torrent disappeared completely.
I updated to 3.2.3 and now when I click a magnet link, it opens qBittorrent and gives the error "This magnet link was not recognised" (I've tested - this is definitely spawned by qBittorrent, not Chromium)
Opening .torrent files or double clicking on RSS links in qBittorrent itself works fine.
Anyone else seeing this?
Thanks
Magnet links not working - different symptoms on different versions
Re: Magnet links not working - different symptoms on different versions
Is this a qbittorrent dialogue or a browser dialogue?"This magnet link was not recognised"
Re: Magnet links not working - different symptoms on different versions
I'm 99% sure it's qbittorrent - If it's not open when I click the link, I have to wait for it to open before the error pops up.
That being said, I've just found that if I go into qbittorrent, click Open URL and paste the magnet link into there, it works properly. I'm now wondering if the browser is mangling the magnet link when it hands it over to qbittorrent...
