Torrent list empty after system crash

Post by tuxayo »

Hi,

My system had a crash (CPU unstable) and next time I relaunched qBittorrent, the torrent list was empty.

I still have my categories, my settings.

Where are the current torrents(with their statistics) stored? So I can check if I could recover something.

Version: 3.3.3
OS: Arch Linux
KitKat

For future reference:
All the loaded meta data files can be found in the location(s) you have selected to "Store .torrent files in" or/and the location you have selected to "Copy completed .torrent files to" (found in Options -> Downloads.

They are also found in the BT_Backup folder (saved as .torrent), so unless a  "crash" also formats  your drive(s), having to fetch the meta data from the Internet should be unnecessary.

Put ALL the payloads in the location you have specified for "incomplete". (including any that are complete)

Turn off the "add new torrent" dialogue (Options -> Preferences -> Behaviour -> "[ ] Show a window with additional options"

Set "[ ] Do not automatically start"

"Drag and drop" ALL the metadata (.torrent)  files onto the GUI window.

and away you go.  If ANY fail to load, it means you probably have changed the names, if this is the case change the name in the content pane to suit the current payload folder or file name, ... ... run a force recheck and restart.

Thanks, I still had the .torrent's and the payloads but I was searching to recover the  "state" of the torrents. Mostly the uploaded volume and ratio.

The "BT_backup" folder still contains the ".fastresume.0" files but they are all empty. Is there something to do?

They are the files that have been 'marked as read' when you ran the upgrade to 3.3

What do you mean by 'marked as read'?

Okay, this is normal then.

Where are the new files that save the torrents progress?
