command will give me a segmentation fault. All programs I have that use qt fail to work except for avidemux-qt which I have compiled myself.

Also....your .asc gpg key cannot be verified :

"gpg --verify qbittorrent-3.3.16.tar.gz.asc
gpg: Signature made Thu 07 Sep 2017 12:16:59 PM EDT using RSA key ID 5B7CC9A2
gpg: Can't check signature: public key not found
"

just so you know I run Linux Mint 17.3 LTS, which has some of its own repos, but still is majorly using ubuntu 14.04 repos, the next LTS will have less ubuntu repos and LM will become its own distro in the early 2020's, i'm pretty sure.

I see all these people get errors, but I just get "segmentation fault"

see examples :

xxx@xxx-desktop ~ $ qbittorrent
Segmentation fault
xxx@xxx-desktop ~ $

or whatever a program I always used when it came to kvirc, a program that does use qt programming

xxx@xxx-desktop ~ $ kvirc
Segmentation fault

What the hell is that, I even moved my LM 17.3 partition to a newer internal drive that's in a better shape, still, amazing a 200gb first generation 1.5gb/s SATA drive bought in late 2005, WD200, in those days, they didn't have colour indicating qualities, the serial numbers did that, like Seagate still do... Anyway, i'm wondering what's gone wrong here with anything qt here.
