qBT won't shut down properly

Post by mr.hornung »

hi,
i'm using qbittorrent v.3.3.1 on linux mint 18.2 cinnamon 64bit. installed it from the repositories and have the following problem:
i have selected to show the program's icon in the tray, but not to close/minimize to tray so that it would shut down when i close the window.
when i do so, the icon is still shown in the tray, suggesting that the process didn't really shut down. when i click on the icon, nothing happens.
when i attempt to shut down my computer, i get the message that the process is indeed still running.
the system monitor also shows me that the process is still running, but sleeping. when i try to force it to be closed, nothing happens at first, it takes multiple attempts to get it to close.
after that, when i try to restart the program, at the first attempt the splashscreen appears for maybe half a second, then disappears. only at the second try the program would start again.
not showing the icon in the tray does not change this behaviour.
i have this problem for two days now maybe, the days before everything worked fine.
uninstalling and re-installing the program did not solve the problem, either.
thanks for any ideas about this issue.
