qBittorent shows my own local and public IPs as clients in every torrent

Post by kostiya »

For the first time I port forwarded qBittorrent to see if it would be able to connect to my server, and in general, finds more peers.
It seems to help.
But now on every open torrent, my local and public IPs are listed as peers.
Why would qBittorrent would try to communicate with itself?
Should I submit bug report?

Sounds like your personal experiences can add to this:
Warning: If you're using a VPN or proxy...

...even if you're not using a VPN or proxy, qBT shouldn't try (more than once per restarting qBT) to connect to itself.
So yes, it's a bug.
