Will 3.0.0 be a major release or just a minor continuation of 2.9.X?

I think 3.0 is planned to be using libtorrent 0.16, other than that I don't suspect it'll be radically different.

I'm surprised 2.9.7 with libtorrent 0.16 was uploaded to sourceforge so early.

Thats great  :). Mainpage should be updated too with the information that it has uTp now. In terms of connections and speed its a huge improvment compared to the earlier builds.

Not really, it clearly states that if it is official or not and also all 3 works stable (thanks to the efforts) so you have the choice here at forums to use other's build. Mainly when new version gets released it also being tested by us, the users and afterwards uploaded to sf as official so its not confusing at all. I agree if you mean that when a new version gets released it gets here at forums with 2-3 different builds that can be confusing maybe for few people to choose which one to use, till it gets official.

@Calidude : I think this is one of advantages of an open source project, each follower can build the project.
An official build is 100% safe.
An unofficial build has a certain probability to be unsafe (for qbt, There are multi packagers that have a good reputation).

I went back to this v2.9.7 build after having some problems with v2.9.8, like I wrote here:
http://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php?topi ... 85#msg2985
But now I'm experiencing similar problems with this v2.9.7 build:
I only had one download in the transfer window, and after restarting qBittorrent, the download started at 0% again.
The execution log reported file size missmatch and being unable to fast resume.
I wanted to start clean to avoid errors, so I tried deleting the download from the transfer window, and "also delete the files on the hard disk"..
This removed the download from the transfer window all right, but the files on the hard drive remained and had to be deleted manually.
(WinXP32,SP3 / Clean install of mkdib's qBittorrent v2.9.7 with libtorrent v0.15.11 / Magnet link torrent)
