qBittorent won't close ('end process' does nothing) Windows 7 [FIXED]

Hi,

qBittorent refuses to close properly. The icon disappears in the system tray but the process keeps running in the background and trying to end the process with the task manager does nothing. This means I can't shut down my PC without forcing a shutdown every time, and it also means that I can't uninstall the program.
Everything worked fine until recently, so all of this is very strange.

I see this very regularly with qB 4.1.1 x64 on Windows 10 x64 1803 (17134.191) as well.

Uninstalling that update fixed it. Thanks!

Yes, uninstalled the patch and now qB exits normally.  Thank you! 
I just don't know what happens if I never install that patch, which seems to be a monthly security bundle patch.

Funny I was having the same issue on one system. I tried everything except uninstalling it because uninstalling and reinstalling feel like a pain. Couldn't really figure it out.

You couldn't figure out how to uninstall the update? Control Panel >> Programs & Features >> View Installed Updates, and remove it from there. 

But there's no need to do that anymore because the issue was resolved in the latest monthly rollup 2018-08.  If you install that, qB should exit without issues.
