Hi,I've just switched from uTorrent and when downloading in qBittorrent, some torrents switch to paused state so I must resume them by hand.
Why is this happening and how can I prevent this behavior? Thanks for explaining.
Torrents which download pause randomly
Re: Torrents which download pause randomly
Setting qBT's cache too large can trigger this -- and this may even rarely occur if the cache is set to automatic.
Torrents saved on NAS can also have this happen due to networking hiccups.
Lastly there's probably another bug in qBT that can cause this... so there's hope this will become less-and-less of a problem in newer versions of qBT.

Re: Torrents which download pause randomly
Thanks for the info, Switeck. I'm also interested in the "how can I prevent this behavior" part as I'm also affected.
I'm downloading to a NAS, which worked fine in uTorrent. I prefer qBitTorrent, but the "not downloading" part of qBitTorrent (which I unfortunatelly experience a lot) ist not very nice.

Re: Torrents which download pause randomly
uTorrent may tolerate longer timeouts to the NAS without disconnecting than qBitTorrent due to slightly better internal cache handling and better recovery logic.
qBT should see an improvement on that going from v4.0.x to v4.1.3 (or later)...because libtorrent (which qBT uses) is seeing work on the subject.
Speeds at which you're downloading/uploading plus number of active peers+seeds may have a huge effect on how stable the NAS is.
100's of peers wanting different parts of many files all stored on the NAS trying to access that at once may present a problem even if excess network speeds are available between your NAS and computer.
Spinning platter HDDs literally cannot keep up with lots of simultaneous random file accesses.
A bigger cache in qBT can help slightly, but risks crashes especially for qBT 32bit versions due to the 2 GB virtual memory limitations.
So I don't suggest setting the cache larger than 1000 MB on qBT 32bit even if you have 4 GB or more ram.

Re: Torrents which download pause randomly
Thanks, sounds like I will see improvement in the next version of qBT or after that... That's fine with me.
I can't help qBT too much with memory as of now, unfortunatelly, as it is running on a small machine with only 3 GB available RAM (in total), which is also used by jDownloader and Soul Seek...
Still, when it works, it works well :-)
