4.1.4 crashes immediately on startup

Post by yurkyurk »

Previously qBittorrent was running fine (Win 10 64-bit). I just updated to 4.1.4 and it always crashes immediately on start up. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I've downgraded back to 4.1.3 which works fine, but I would like to be able to use the latest version.

Yep I can confirm, the same thing happened to me, so I downgrade it back to 4.11.3

Same here. I've made an account for this. I'll take the opportunity to also thank you for developing this client.
Is the 2-step captcha truly necessary even for posting?

I can confirm that I have the same problem as soon as I update to 4.1.4 from 4.1.3

Personally I can't even install it, I get a message saying it cannot open C:/Program_Files/qbittorrent/qbittorrent.exe to even perform the update. Omitting continues the instalation just fine, except it remains in 4.1.3.

Love the client, but ditto on the update crashing. Windows 10/64

edit: Thankfully you can just reinstall 4.1.3 easily. I do notice that it's no longer offering the new update even if I check for it.

Same problem here, running Windows 10. It starts, I see the application window for 2 seconds, then it goes away. I'm glad I kept the 4.1.3 installation executable.

I am so glad you said you downgraded, at least I knew there was a fix since you did it!

You're not alone, and the problem is being looked into:

Crash on startup, just after updating to version 4.1.4
https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/9865

Strangely, qBitTorrent 4.1.4 32bit version may not cause crashes...at least for some lucky people.

I went to update to 4.1.4 this morning, but the fosshub download is still 4.1.3, I guess I'm lucky.
