qBitTorrent started stalling after network drives were mapped

Post by levialex »

Howdy folks,

I'm so very sorry to bother y'all with this issue but I really don't know where else to go.

I've been happily using qBitTorrent for a while now and everything has worked splendidly. The main place I download torrents from is a tracker called FileList (if anyone's ever heard of it).

A couple days ago, I purchased and installed a Synology Network Attached Storage Drive on my network. I set that up all fine and dandy and mapped some Network Drives in Windows 10, on my PC to use. It has never been my intention to download torrents straight to those drives though.

Since I mapped the Network Drives though, I've been encountering an issue where I've not been able to download a single torrent more. Basically, even though I am trying to download torrents to one of my PC's internal HDDs, just like before, now, every torrent I try to download shows as "Stalled" and the tracker shows as "Not Working".

Now, I've tried working with the Support guys from the torrent tracker but they can't seem to find anything wrong on their end, nor with the connection between myself and them. At this point, I am wondering if there's any way for qBitTorrent to "weird out" and not connect to the tracker due to the presence of the NAS on my network or due to the fact that I mapped multiple network drives on my PC.

Has anybody ever encountered this issue before?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Backup qBitTorrent's settings and try fresh qBitTorrent settings with unrelated public torrents (Linux distros for instance) to see if the problem occurs with them.

Also, check whether qBitTorrent is trying to use sparse files, as that seems to have problems that may or may not be fixed only in the latest libtorrent versions.

Are you using qBitTorrent v4.1.7?

I've tried using a fresh install of qBitTorrent with the standard settings it comes with after the install but that has still changed nothing.

Yes, I use the latest version of qBitTorrent (v4.1.7).

The only other thing I can think of is qBitTorrent lost permissions to access those drives due to possible drive letter changes.
Can you try to force it to run in full admin rights mode?

I have tried running qBitTorrent  with Full Administrator Rights. That has unfortunately not changed anything :(

May be some recent bug...can you try again with qBT v4.1.5?
