Migrating from uTorrent is a bit tricky

Post by Cutter »

Hello,

I'm trying to migrate my torrents from uTorrent. It seems a bit more complicated than copying all the .torrent files from %appdata%. First problem: in uTorrent, I sometimes deleted files without deleting the .torrent, so I have more .torrent files than actual torrents. I don't want to download those deleted torrents again. How to remove those dead .torrent files? Second problem: I sometimes downloaded only one file from a torrent. If I import the .torrent in qBittorrent it will probably try to download all the other files from these torrents.

How can I handle this without checking every single torrent for those particularities? I have too much torrents to check them one-by-one.

Thanks.

Is it an option for you at all to just use both clients at same time? Meaning, new torrents use qB, and as the old ones in utorrent are finished just remove them from utorrent until you're done with them.

If you need to add the torrents into qB (for seeding purposes) it really will need to rehash check all the torrents files anyway.
