bt_backlog folder issue old torrents being added resources ate up

Post by kaiteky »

Reinstalling doesn't fix it. Got no help in the qbitorrent subreddit and noticed this forum. https://imgur.com/a/IwJRwUS These torrents I downloaded new and they aren't even in qbittorrent anymore I deleted them years ago. Its a brand new hard drive to download to I fill one up a year and here were these files and all of a sudden my computer was using all its resources just to run the program, the files should not be on this hd at all. It went from less than firefox and sometimes pia from around 300k kb to 2-6million kb and more. My computer is unusable when this happens its no beast but does good in general. They also add themselves each time the program is opened. In varying numbers it is really strange. Before that shutdown it was fine. I suspect this started after a power failure gave me computer problems the other day. It had happened to me several times before in the past but had resolved for several years after that fix which is seemed erased every torrent in my program as well but at least gave me a clean start. At least I would be able to us it again.. I really don't want to switch clients I love this one used it for 10 years it seems and I love how easy it is to make it only use your vpn which is something I am paranoid about anymore after all the warnings I have gotten. I dloaded deluge but can't figure out how to use my vpn network adapter. I deleted the stuff in appdata/temp/qbittorrent but that didn't help the problem is still happening with the resources and I assume the files. There is another folder that is doing this I guess. Does anyone know where the active downloads and stuff like that is stored. What could be causing these to constantly be adding themselves.

I was messing around and found the bt_backlog folder and that seems to be where the problem lies.

I moved all those files over to another folder almost deleted them but in doing that I lost all the information that tells me what torrents I have downloaded over the past few years. How can I figure out which of these are loading up when I don't want them to and causing my computer to eat up all its resources and load these old junk files that never even download onto my new drives.

When these files arent in that folder the program opens instantly but doesn't have my torrents
