can't uninstall, can't install new version

Hello,
I've been using qbittorrent for years on my win10 PC. Recently I was notified that there's a new version of qbittorrent. I downloaded it and tried to install it but it tells me that there's a version running which I must close before installing the new one. When I try to close it I can't. In fact it may be running but not correctly. I can hear the computer clicking but nothing seems to be getting downloaded, nor is anything I can find happening. So I'm asking for help. I can't use it or stop it. How can I uninstall it or get it to work or get the newest version. Please help me.

If you tried all the usual methods to stop the program - X out in the upper right corner of the window, File>Exit, Right Click Taskbar icon>Exit then there is always End Process in the Task Manager. It's not the cleanest or best option but sometimes you got to do what you got to do.

Yeah this is the way. Thankfully you only have to do this on certain versions (like one or two are affected), that can't close down clean. Like 4.4.0 did this for me. But 4.4.1 and 4.4.2, 4.3.9 has all been fine.
