Network interfaces in Advanced options don't match names in Windows Network Connections

Post by kcary »

The interface names don't match and the quantity doesn't match. Not everyone can easily sort out which interface to select. And warnings to keep uninformed users out of the Advanced settings don't always work.

Updates keep wiping my settings and I have to figure binding out by trial and error. A notable lag for the client to detect the change combined with the disparate interface names makes it take far longer than necessary. The lag isn't a bad thing, imo - no sense wasting clock cycles checking for a network connection that's almost always up.

So is there a way to correct the interface binding list? How hard would it be for me (a little experience) to fix and recompile?
