1. start torrent download.
2. complete torrent download. all files in download = 100%.
3. go away.
5. come back.
6. turn on qBittorrent
NOTE: files that completed downloading are downloading again.
Maybe this is just a torrent client issue. I've had the same thing happen to me with uTorrent and Vuze. So basically, once I've finished downloading I have to delete the torrent from qBit before I've done my share of uploading because I don't want to come back later and find 5gbs of data downloading again when I've already downloaded it once. It doesn't happen with all files, nor can I can't see any pattern to what files it does happen to.
But because of it I'm forced to be a bad downloader and not upload as much as I've downloaded. I was raised Catholic. I can't stand the guilt.

That sounds really weird. Every application should flush writes and whatnot after closing. So your data should stay there.
Did you modify the NTFS settings on your computer?
