I finally got my hands on the new version with i2p support and got it working. Fantastic. Now I can power seed on two networks instead of one. The thing is, I don't quite understand how it works. The existence of this feature breaks both my understanding of bittorrent and my understanding of i2p. I found the developers' guide but it went over my head. Can somebody please explain like I'm 5?
How do i2p clients reach clearnet clients/trackers and vice-versa? Where's the outproxy, if any? How do i2p peers know I have a given torrent? Are clearnet trackers even used? Is there a way to make myself more visible/available to peers on i2p or is it all automatic?
Also, is it a good idea (from a security+privacy+anonymity+tinfoil point of view) to seed both clearnet (vpn) and i2p from the same client? Could one be used to de-anonymize the other? Why or why not?
