Active torrents that are not doing anything
Active torrents that are not doing anything
Hi all, I’m seeding a bunch of torrents using qbittorrent. I have it set to only show active torrents. But I have a bunch of torrents being displayed, but they are not uploading or downloading. Why is qbittorrent showing them to me as active when there is no uploading or downloading? How do I set it so it doesn’t show them to me? Thanks
Re: Active torrents that are not doing anything
I'm on Linux but suspect QB works the same on this regardless of OS. It shows active most likely because it is not paused therefore it is trying to find something it can download from or upload to. I looked in my active tab thing on the left and most of mine are either uploading or downloading but some were idle. Thing is, every one of the idle ones that was not downloading and/or uploading showed it was time to reannounce. Odds are, it is trying to find a seed therefore, it is doing something, even if it results in no progress. I suspect the ones where downloads are complete, it is looking for others who want to download that file.
I'm no guru but that is my best guess based on what I see QB doing here. If someone else has a better idea, they can post, correct my thinking if I'm wrong.

Re: Active torrents that are not doing anything
As of right now all the seeds that are "active" but not downloading or uploading are all from IP Torrents. I have a total of 66 seeds from that site and only 26 of them are shown as having activity but not downloading or uploading. So what is different about these seeds? In fact, I recently transfered all my seeds from one computer to another. When I had the original computer, there weren't as many of these "active" seeds. After doing the transfer, there are now alot more.rdalek wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 11:23 pm I'm on Linux but suspect QB works the same on this regardless of OS.
