Raspberry Pi 5 Specific Configuration Needed to Work

Post by landscapemuseum »

Hello,

I was struggling for a few hours to get a successful torrent running on qBittorrent and Windscribe VPN with port forwarding working on my raspberry pi 5, which runs raspbian bookworm. I was able to find the solution to my issue from https://www.reddit.com/r/qBittorrent/co ... rry_pi_os/, and I don't see any mention of it elsewhere. The solution was to change the "Optional IP address to bind to" setting from the default "All addresses" to "All IPv4 addresses", as well as binding to the specific network interface that the VPN uses, which I had already done.

I have not seen a guide anywhere discuss this, and it was not an obvious solution to try, as I would assume that "All IPv4 addresses" would be a subset of "All addresses". Does anybody know why this setting must be on this option? I wanted to post here before making an issue on the repository, in case there is an obvious reason for this. Thank you!
