Moving qBittorent to a new Mac?

Post by Don911 »

If I want to move qBittorent from one Mac to another one, without losing any stats, what directories do I need to copy over in addition to the data files? I found Library\Applicaton Support\qBittorrent, but are there any other files or folders than need to be copied over as well?

Did anybody ever figure out how to do this effectively?

In MacOS...

Use Finder > Go > Go to Folder to find following...

qBittorrent settings:
  • ~/.config/qBittorrent
RSS, Categories, Watch folders:
  • ~/Library/Preferences/qBittorrent
Your torrent files, logs, etc:
  • ~/Library/Application Support/qBittorrent
Back them all up. When you've installed qBittorrent on the new Mac, first run it and then completely quit the app. Copy over the the backed up files to the freshly installed qBittorrent's locations as above in bold. Then launch qBittorrent and it should all be there.
