RSS re-downloads multiple old torrents after restart

Post by MarcoTRM »

Hi everyone,
I'm currently using qBittorrent (updated to the last version ofc) on a dedicated machine that's always on. I have the RSS feature set up to automatically download anime fansubs published by a few specific groups.

My RSS rules are very simple:

The torrent name must include the fansub group's name.

It must exclude any torrent that contains low-resolution tags (e.g. "480p").

I’ve also set a default folder for incomplete downloads and another one where completed downloads are moved. All other settings are left to default.

Everything works perfectly while qBittorrent stays running. However, I’ve noticed an issue whenever I have to restart qBittorrent or reboot the system. When qBittorrent starts again, it checks the RSS feeds and starts downloading multiple torrents from the past 3–4 days — even though those files were already downloaded before.

It seems like qBittorrent doesn't remember which torrents it already handled via RSS. My guess is that it compares the current RSS feed against what's in the download folders, and if a file is missing (maybe moved or renamed), it triggers the download again. This results in duplicates or unnecessary downloads.

Is there a way to make qBittorrent remember which torrents have already been downloaded through RSS, even after a restart?
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance! ;) ;) ;)

That should do it. No re-downloads for 5 days. Change as needed.
