Downloads are inaccessible after drive letter change

Post by CabbageMerchant »

I moved all my torrents to another hard drive and changed its letter to the same old one (E), then fresh installed windows and copied my qbittorent backup folders to the right directory. When I started qbittorent after, everything was picked up and seeding as expected, but now when I download stuff to that drive, it becomes inaccessible. I can't open it, can't delete it, can't move it. It's just there but not there. Here's the error message I get:

Please help!

So I found a solution quicker than expected:
  1. Exit qbittorent
  2. Run cmd as admin and type this command (replace what's inside the quotes with your path)

    Code: Select all

    rd /s \\?\"C:\corrupted\folder\path"
(replace what's inside the quotes with your path)
The file/folder will be deleted and you can run the torrent to download it again, but you have to choose a different name for it; otherwise, this will happen again for some reason.

@ragdoll archers I've moved all the data to a new file and archived it to my hard drive, I want to keep it organized so I can find it when needed.
