Site talk
Re: Site talk
Too bad we have no AdSense / SMF experts here.
I'll create a topic at the SMF forums I guess..
If I make a "campaign" with our color scheme and stuff, all I get is a "cannot load webpage" iframe.
But there is no ad. Only this old-kind format works that I found in a snippet online.
Update: It worked now, I changed the code so now we should get targeted ads, instead of stupid generic ones.
Update2: Good thing the "skyscraper" falls out of the site if I make it smaller.
Please do let me know if the ads mess up the design!

Re: Site talk
Strangely enough. I couldn't see qBt forums using MTS (Russia) mobile provider.
Today I was helping my friend with Windows and couldn't access qB forums either (neither register nor log-in worked; impossible to even just view the forums; says the guest account is banned, I'm guessing that's an IP ban, though he's never used neither qBt nor the forums). We're using the same ISP, the only difference being: I have a static 'white' IP, he has a dynamic 'white' IP, which changes every session.
Can you check if those ranges/IPs are banned; dunno if the site has up-to-date info http://www.nirsoft.net/countryip/ru.html
ISPs are Iskratelecom CJSC and MTS OJSC
P.S. Here's a screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/67t1fca0fu3ij ... .17.47.png
My IP during screen capture was 213.87.128.8, domain was 8.gprs.mts.ru

Re: Site talk
You can't even view the forum as a guest? I mean... it blocks you out entirely?
(This blocklist is only applied by the SMF mod. The "stopforumspam" site provides it.)

Yep.

Re: Site talk
Wow, that's quite serious. I'll have a look at this plugin at once. (sec)
Re: Site talk
http://www.stopforumspam.com/ipcheck/213.87.128.8 is indeed blacklisted. Though it makes no sense blocking gateways.
Re: Site talk
It makes no sense to block people (even blacklisted ones) to view I think.
Cloudflare already got a protection against malicous people, so anyone else should be able to at least view the forums.
(I'll try to find the option/setting for this.)
Now that's alien! SFS is supposed to block registration, not browsing.
This is gonna be tough. (I also cleaned up our mods, so we only have SFS, quick ban and restrict mails.)
Update: It's the "full ban" feature. I (and I guess all the other admins as well) did full bans on spammers.
Full ban means they cannot even view the forum apparently. I'll update the permissions in SQL (with a backup before that, hah) and see if that will do the job.)

If i see red IP (marked by SFS) - i give it full ban immediately.

Re: Site talk
Alright guys, I'll modify the permissions later on. (Hopefully tomorrow, as I'll have some things to do today/tomorrow.)
But I'm on it, didn't forget or anything like that.
Breaking news: Chris contacted me that the forums are an important part of the project, and he can cover the cost of the hosting from the donations he saved up so far.
So we are moving to FatCow, and I'm refunding the cost at GoDaddy. (So I'll transfer the files/forums.)
The refunded GoDaddy money will stay on the account, so we can use it up there later on. (It's just 10$ though.)
@Ironcross: I guess that's just normal. I think the full ban behavior is just silly. (It should just ban the user from registering/posting. I would add a new button that would do such a "non-view" ban too.)

Re: Site talk
Wow guys, sorry for the delay.
It was caused by TWO things mainly:
1) CloudFlare was awfully slow. Even though they say there is no propagation delay with them, it took 8 hours to get our DNS refreshed. (I modified the TTL to 5 minutes in the morning too.)
2) FatCow requires a hand written php.ini. At least a modified one.
You have to make your own phpsession/tmp folder, and then set them up BY HAND, in the editor.
(Why there is no guide/tutorial at first, is beyond me. But you can find these informations through Google.)
If any of you ever wants to use FatCow:
The SFTP article: http://www.fatcow.com/knowledgebase/rea ... ?kbid=7520
Here is the main path: http://www.fatcow.com/controlpanel/settings.bml
Then the PHP tutorial: http://www.fatcow.com/knowledgebase/bet ... cleID=1290
Finally the PHP editor: http://www.fatcow.com/controlpanel/cgiM ... HPplus.bml
The best thing? I found the tip on GoDaddy's knowledge base. Awesome.

If i see red IP (marked by SFS) - i give it full ban immediately.

But those IPs can belong to ISP pool, so you'll be banning legitimate users as well.

Re: Site talk
Using Google DNS here. The forums were reachable by me at all times.
Re: Site talk
Update: The only mod I found called "YAGAM" is not updated for 2.0.4. If you find any plugins (sooner than I do), please share them here.
Yeah, that was the old site. I wanted to keep it as a back up if the migration goes wrong. (like it did).
But then it just caused problem, as you either ended up THERE or here.
Now I stopped the web hosting at GoDaddy. (The files are still there, I'll make a few more backups.)
TODO list:
1)Fix avatars. I can't see mine, and some others are missing as well. Why or how... yeah. So this one first.
(Re-uploading the files from the verified backup again, just to be sure. Used FTP first and it sucks as you can see.)
2) Add global announcements (it's a mod for smf, lol.)
3) Back up the old place multiple times / upload the packs to my backup space.
4) Refund at GoDaddy so that dosh can go to the domain renew.
(By the way, if you guys would ever want a new (additional / non-shiki.hu) domain, tell me. Like qbittorrent-forums.hu or qbittorrent-forums.com. A personal one like shiki.hu is cheap.)
5) Re-enable Cloudflare cache and set the TTL to AUTO.

In theory there is something like that. In practice that case with your friend is the first known.

Re: Site talk
Ah no need to worry about the bans. I gave full bans too.
I'll just write an SQL trigger to modify the bans to view-only ones. That's all.
At least the site is quite complete now.
Only the global announcement remains (as far as I can tell.)
