Hi,
I am enjoying using qBittorrent on Win XP. I have a few questions that I have thought of. If you could answer them that would be great...
1) There is an option for IP filtering. Is it worthwhile using a filter list? If so, which list do you recommend?
2) There is an option called "Use UPnP / NAT-PMP port forwarding from my router". I have set up port forwarding on my router for port 40000. Do I need to have this setting selected or deselected?
3) If a torrent contains several files, is it possible to select just individual files within that torrent to download?
4) "Outgoing ports (Min/Max)" settings are set at 0 (disabled). Is this okay? Will it stop uploading?
5) There is an option called "Global maximum number of upload slots". Does this control slots that are being used for downloading as well?
6) There is an option called "Maximum number of upload slots per torrent". Why would a torrent occupy more than one slot?
7) Where are parts of an incomplete download saved? (Is it the same folder where completed downloads are stored?)
8) When viewing the files of incomplete downloads in Windows, the "Size" is greater than "Size on disk". How can the file size be greater than the file size on disk (NTFS compression isn't being used)?
Thanks.

I never used any since using KaZaA (lol). Personally I would say no and if you ask why:
- Who says that it actually works?
- Who says that those are really anti p2p ips?
- Blocks too many good peers also = low performance overall.
- If you are scared of p2p applications I would say don't use any.
- If they want you they can get you anytime, they already know what you're doing with your internet so its no protection at all.
+ This could differ per country, per internet services.
+ It could filter the bad peers out.
Its in your head, like, im downloading and need some protection. Placebo effect if you ask me.

If you have set up your router manually you don't need this option selected.

Yes, just click and choose what you want or not: http://i.imgur.com/nVQsHVB.png

4) "Outgoing ports (Min/Max)" settings are set at 0 (disabled). Is this okay? Will it stop uploading?
No, it will work like it should. Leave it that way.

5) There is an option called "Global maximum number of upload slots". Does this control slots that are being used for downloading as well?
No, as far I know only for uploading. Downloading slots is always different each torrent, there can be 100 people uploading to you or 10 and this depends to the seeds/peers ratio most of the time.

6) There is an option called "Maximum number of upload slots per torrent". Why would a torrent occupy more than one slot?
If you have a fast internet connection its always better to upload to more people than only 1.

7) Where are parts of an incomplete download saved? (Is it the same folder where completed downloads are stored?)
You can choose to save it somewhere else if you want but the default setting saves it in the download folder as incomplete. You can check in the options to put !qB as a file type to know that they are incomplete.

8 ) When viewing the files of incomplete downloads in Windows, the "Size" is greater than "Size on disk". How can the file size be greater than the file size on disk (NTFS compression isn't being used)?
Thats normal cause its still downloading. When it completes (or almost completes) it will show the same size.
