qBittorrent 3.1.4 suddenlly stops connecting and stalled

Post by cenovita »

Hi guys,

I have changed from uTorrent to qBittorent and I may say it works fine, but lately, I dont know why, it started with the stalled problem.

I have tried everything, connecting directly through the DSL modem, off course removing all firewalls, etc, the program does not activate the port.

I have check here
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
http://canyouseeme.org/

and the program does not use the established port BUT, I have downloaded another torrent client, configured the port and the port becomes visible.

I dont know what else to try, I really like qB but I'm not able to use it properly.

MY OS is W7 64

BTW: It was working fine last night and today early morning, and yesterday did the same, suddenly stopped working and after sometime, it came back...

If qBittorrent stalls or isn't downloading then its most of the time a port problem. I would say change the port and try it again (correctly forwarded). Also make sure that other clients (if installed) are not using the same port as qBittorrent.

thank you for your reply.

I have already checked that.

As I said, I have tried other torrent clients and they connect just fine.

qB is not opening the port, I dont know why, also, this happens suddenly, sometimes its works fine.

I have already tried changing the port, using uPnP and manually adding the port UDP and TDP... nothing.

I will let you know if this starts to fail again.

Thats weird indeed, but good that its working now :). For logs you can try View -> Execution Log on the top but if it works now then there is no need for it.

Ok, it happened again, it suddenly stopped downloading and now I just cannot close it, it leaves a process which I cannot kill.

Using 3.1.5

UPDATE: Again, restarted and working fine...

Could be your internet line perhaps being unstable or losing connection, or your whole line is restarting like your router for example. Do you have slow internet line?

Nope, it is working just fine, my connection is 3MB down 0.5 MB up.

When this happens everything is working fine, the connection works fine and full speed (tested it) but in any case, this does not explain the process unkillable in the system i think.

OK, it seems to be something in my windows 7, I have tried with uTorrent and I have the same problem, for some reason it stops working after sometime...

Any help would be appreaciated on how to solve this, it never happened before and I just recently installed Windows 7 again due to new PC.

It seems that somehow the port service that opens ports get closed.

Actually, as two different client do exactly the same thing it points more towards your ISP is doing "dynamic" port throttling/blocking. This is where the ISP's systems identify specific ports that are being heavily used and are affecting the overall performance of the line or the DSLAM that you are connected to, thus slowing down other users/subscribers on the same line.

I recently ran into this problem after updating to 3.1.5. I fixed it by deleting my qbittorrent.ini file located in %appdata%\qBittorrent. (If that doesn't work, uninstall qBittorrent and click the checkbox that says "delete configuration data", and then reinstall it.)

Hi I recently came across this problem. I am using qbittorrent about a month not more.
I have windows XP proffessional, qBittorrent 3.1.2.
After using qBittorent succesfully all this time suddenly all the new torrents I add appear stalled. After restarting windows, the same torrents download just fine. (I am hibernating windows XP most of the time, not shutting down but my system is generally pretty stable).
I will repost when that happens again.

I changed the default port for incoming connections to a greater value, something like 12500 because it seems that some trackers block the default port.

Not 'trackers' but ISPs do.
