Incomplete downloads aren't loaded on check or force recheck.
For a while my client was messing up and reloading to "fresh install status" (I get the legal notice, etc, when loading like I just installed it) updated to the newest version and my incomplete torrent files won't load no matter what I do!

Now my client is crashing when it attempts to check the files. Does that mean they are corrupt? Help!

If you use 3.1.8 and have enabled preallocation, then disable it.
Preallocation has a bug in 3.1.8. It will be fixed with 3.1.9.

I am using 3.2.0 alpha, but I disabled it anyway. Still nothing.

Re: Incomplete downloads aren't loaded on check or force recheck.
So I attempted to download one of the torrents which has unfinished data. It began to download (to .1% before I canceled it) but the file it was supposed to be downloading is still in it's unfinished state. It is however supposed to be downloading to that folder. Is there a cache file I can access and perhaps dump the file into?

Pff ha. I figure it out. Latest(at this porint) 3.2.0alpha has a bug(from libtorrent) which was fixed afterwards. 3.1.8 shouldn't display this bug though.
(for anyone caring the bug was exposed by gcc and not msvc)

Well, firstly, is there a link anywhere?
Secondly I tried with 3.1.8 as well and the same things were happening.

Am I seriously going to get snubbed here?

Just to be sure can you also try with the newly released 3.1.9?

Be patient, nothing more. The alpha is here at the forum if you had looked good enough. But v3.1.9 has been released as sledge mentioned, try that.

Still happening. Even removed from queue and reloaded by the magnet link. Nothing....

AFAIK I have the latest alpha, which is why I asked. Patience is nice and all but I've been trying to download this torrent for months, and it finally gets past 80% and my torrent application basically tells me "too bad try again". Would that not aggravate you?
Oh, and lest we forget I still have the F***ing torrent data, which is even worse!

Re: Incomplete downloads aren't loaded on check or force recheck.
It would, but im 99% sure that this is not qBittorrents fault. Seeing that you are the only person who experiences this at the moment. Which torrent is it? Send it to me (PM or something) so I can try it.
Also did you tried it with a 100% clean installation? Or only updating by running the installer?
Are the incomplete files named like it should? Not like incomplete filenaming like .UT! or something but like .avi/.iso? If so qBittorrent should recheck them correctly, otherwise not.
Or you can try to finish your incomplete downloads first with the client that you were using before.

Oh, wait. I think I know what you're asking. No, I updated with installer. I'll run a clean install now.

Re: Incomplete downloads aren't loaded on check or force recheck.
Please what? Thats a fact, I say what I see. We are only trying to help you, not others concerning this subject. Are those incomplete files coming from another client or are they from qBittorrent? Are you using any windows cleaner which can wipe anything? Im just curious cause I don't know your system.
A clean installation means: uninstalling qBittorrent, looking into the hidden folders for C:\Users\\AppData\Local\qBittorrent and C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\qBittorrent if they exist, if so delete them. Then install qBittorrent. Get your settings right like downloads folder and such, after that add your torrent and recheck. Uninstalling probably deletes these folders too but to be sure you can look it up yourself.
EDIT: Was mixing 2 topics to each other, edited my post.

Because I started with qBittorrent. But I guess programmers can't ever make mistakes and bugs and flaws in programs don't exist or something.
I also asked to send me the torrent file if possible to see if it happens here too.
No. This happened to all my torrents, as I recently discovered.

Did it, checking now. I don't have high hopes.
