If it was compiled with the 3GB flag, it could use up to 3GB on a 64bit machine. Windows x32 would break up the 4GB of virtual memory space into two halves by default, one for user space and one for the kernel. With /3GB, it would leave the kernel with 1GB and user space with 3GB. his could create some issues for some 32bit Windows machines where the kernel needed more memory, like mapping hardware memory and stuff, but in Windows x64, the 32bit memory space is already "fake", so it's not an issue to use the 3GB mode, but the application needs to "be aware". Simple compile time flag to icnrease 32bit mode memory access.

My connection is much faster than yours, so be careful copying my settings from the images.

I have the same issue. I download using an rss, and after the download, there are many peers, but I don't upload well for some reason. If I restart the computer after the download, it does start seeding better, or sometimes just restarting the client also helps.

"there are many peers," any of them connected? If so, what flags are they showing?

windows 7, v3.1.11. When it is in the problematic state, the peers don't connect. Restarting helps a lot. I don't know what that implies. Also, this computer that I'm using is slow by modern standards, so that might be playing a role.

Okay, I can say the problem went away just by increasing the qbittorrent process priority from normal to above normal. Does that make any sense?

download good process viewer and see what the competing processes are when qbit is at the normal level.  You likely have something using an abnormal amount of system resources.  I have one computer at home that has the infamous "mysterious interupts process uses 100% of cpu" problem.  In the process of replacing it with another machine so I can reload the OS from the ground up.

Interrupts are how hardware communicates with the CPU by "interrupting" the CPU. Bad hardware or drives tend to cause high interrupt rates. Example, a low end RealTek network card may do 50,000+ interrupts per second, pretty much once for each packet, when transferring at gigabit speeds, while an Intel network card may buffer some of the data and only interrupt once in a while, reducing the interrupt rate below 1,000.

This is a main reason why you don't want a cheap network card on a router or firewall. Sometimes the interrupts from low quality network cards are so bad that the CPU gets stuck in a "live lock" state, where the CPU can't actually do any work because it's constantly being interrupted. Except this issue to occur a lot with USB network devices.

I encounter the same issue:

- Good Download and poor or inexistant upload

qBT: 3.1.11 / 3.1.12 / W8.1 64 / CoreI7 4700 / 16G / Connexion: 100/5 (D/U)

Settings:
- UPnp Off  (manual NAT)--> Connection Status = OnLine
-  Limit to 300 global connections
- 50 max. connection per torrent
- 15 global upload slots
- 10 max upload slots per torrent
- Up limit: 400 Kb/S
- uTP On (without limit speed)
- DHT Off
- PeX Off
- Prefer encryption
- Embedded Tracker Off

I tried some settings without change in my case. I was back on other BT client fort test: works fine.

Observation:
- For un file in Seeding Status / Peers Tabs: i see many peers appears and after few seconds disappeears.

How to determine what's happened with qBT?
Is it a known issue as suggested by some users on the net?
How to fix it?

Low upload speeds usually means there is already enough seeds/peers in the swarm to handle the requests.

I undestand but why other BT clients seems be not affected par this slowdown?
The problem is how to keep a good ratio (D/U) if i never upload?

assuming you are using a 'private' tracker, you 'give' instead of only 'taking'.

Almost 10 years passed and now I am with a problem like this with an upload of a maximum of... 100 kiB/s.

I've already checked for the Ports on the provider router settings, so I guess maybe it's something to do with qBit settings.

Does somebody can help me out here please?
