Add Torrent Failed

Dear All,
I 've been update qBittorrent to version 5.0.0

Everything was working fine!
After 24H2 Windows update, I formatted my PC to perform a clean installation of 24H2.
After I install qBittorrent I select some files from search window.
When pressing right-click on them and then "Download", I get the following error in the bottom right of screen.

I tried everything but couldn't fix it.
Can anyone please help me how to fix this?

Thank you very much!

I'm having the same issue, its the new update 5.0.

I had to uninstall 5.0 and find a site that was hosting 4.6.7, then installed that version. Works perfectly.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/qbitto ... ent-4.6.7/

Looks like the consensus on the forums is 5.0 is basically broken.

Good luck.

No, consensus is acute PEBKAC.

People wanted dark theme, it was added, it defaults to Qt theme. "I don't like it." Cool.
There are a dozen awesome looking third-party themes. "No. I want the old look back!"
Cool, now they have the old white theme that they despised so much for years.
\o/

(Seriously, if you want dark theme, check the custom themes out.)

Port forward/firewall. Fix it and you are good.

> search plugins don't work part 1
People installed custom plugins that did not receive any updates and that broke things.
Remove them all and you can grab the latest plugin bundle via the program.

> search plugins don't work part 2
People have been running qB since Windows XP on the same PC and now they have Python installed from the stone age.
If they remove it and install a new one, the plugin installation will be fixed.

As our favorite zoomers would say, "skill issue".

Dear All,

Can anyone please help me, what I must do to fix the following error (if it is possible).

In the version 4.6.7 it works fine!
I download the new version 5.0.1 believing that the problem would be fixed but unfortunately not.

It's a matter of settings or something else?

Thank you very much!

Same here. As soon as I upgraded to v5.0.3.

Same here. I also noticed the pause/resume all option is missing as well. I also downgraded to a 4 series. Now things work again.

Oh, I'm a Linux user so this seems to affect all platforms, not just Windows.

It's the same option as start/stop, it was just renamed.

For the add failed, it's the new association. It's a good question why it fails though.

Well, the missing part is "all". I have the old version installed now so I can't check again but the only way I could pause all torrents was to select the All tab, highlight all torrents with ctrl A and then click pause. The old way, I just go to the edit menu and select pause all or use Ctrl + shift + p. I have to do extra steps to pause all torrents before closing QB with new version. I thought maybe it was hidden but the ctrl + shift + p doesn't work in new version. The option is missing under the edit menu as well. Maybe it was removed by mistake during the rename process????

I finally found a way to do this that requires little effort. I put my mouse pointer over the All under Status on the left. I then right click and select either start or stop torrents. That works the same as the stop all and start all option in older versions. I can work with this.

One reason this is important, if my power fails, I need to shutdown pretty soon. QB takes a little bit to fully close. I think it updates the resume files as to where it is leaving off for each torrent. I see a lot of activity on my /home partition. I try to let it finish before shutting down and every bit of time can count.

I might add, QB seems to be more efficient or something. It doesn't use quite as much memory as it used to either. I have 128GBs so I just let it use whatever it needs but it can be nice for those with much smaller amounts of ram.

I do still get that Add torrent failed message here at times. Mostly with magnet links I think.
